Position responsibilities and expectations

Delivery on solutions to client’s cloud environments with a focus on private & public cloud services (OpenStack, AWS, Azure, GCP) and demonstrate technical cloud knowledge, playing a vital role in the delivery of innovative, enterprise grade production infrastructures and services.

• Provide integration and implementation of cloud platform managed services within large regulated enterprise environments
• Develop process automation for applications deployment for scaled enterprise OpenStack on private clouds
• Define, design and develop solutions for customers with respect to process automation and services architecture
• Administration of existing highly available N-Tier workloads including:
  • Participating in incident/problem/change management processes
  • Maintain application documentation
  • Review and ensure code quality
  • Create automated re-usable solutions
  • Define, develop and execute automated tests and QA and testing procedures
• Providing configured, hardened images for enterprise cloud customers
• Training and supporting team members and customers teams
• The candidate will be part of wenovate Cloud Team and will report into the Cloud Services Business Unit lead in Germany

Technical skills required

• Strong experience with private, public and hybrid cloud technologies: OpenStack, AWS, Azure or GCP
• Solid understanding across cloud technologies, infrastructure, services and platforms
• Significant experience with Linux Operating Systems and Linux Sysadmin knowledge
• Experience with XaaS services development, integration and Technology; e.g. Cloud platform technologies like CloudFoundry, OpenShift, DBaaS or other
• Experience with Containerization technology (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with cloud orchestration and deployment technologies (e.g. AWS Cloud Formation, OpenStack Heat, Terraform)
• Web Application Firewalls Using apache/nginx
• Cloud Object Storage (AWS S3, OpenStack Swift and Ceph)
• Database Clustering (e.g. MySQL/Maria DB)
• Configuration Management Technologies (e.g. Ansible, Salt, Puppet)
• CI/CD tools and components (e.g. Atlassian Bamboo, Jenkins, Github/Gitlab, Spinnaker, Concourse CI)
• Monitoring and Logging tools (e.g. Elastic Stack)
• Development Tools, Programming and Configuration Languages

Soft skills required

• Customer satisfaction driven approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 year experience as cloud engineer (DevOps)
• Working and communicating with enterprise customers. Application planning
• Working remotely in a multicultural enviroment
• Fluent in English (basic German is a distinct advantage)

Degrees/certifications earned

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent experience and knowledge
• A distinct advantage: Relevant Industry certifications for OpenStack or Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud
